Chapter Four

Zombie Bashing Reject 4

Name: Nicholas "Nick" Stronghold

Age: 16

Zombies!

Of course, they were zombies. No one here had the balls to say it out loud. I guess now that she said it, it made it more real. She made everyone in this stupid Honda feel even more scared. We knew they looked like zombies. It was obvious.

Zombies!

I would have said it to of I wasn't freaking out myself.

I could have been the one who opened everyone's eyes to reality. I guess I didn't what to see the faces I was seeing now. The hopelessness, the fear, the regret.

It was a war out there, a real war. Us versus them. People were dying. People were getting bitten, clawed at. They were being resurrected as soldier for the other side. It was all happening so fast to.

I watched an old lady, probably a hundred-years old, running as fast as her fragile body would allow her. Still it wasn't fast enough. A woman, twice her size. Chances her down the side walk, it took the gouged woman only seconds to catch up to the old lady. She grabs the back of her pray's hair and pulls her down to the ground. She's on top of her, clawing, ripping and pulling the old woman's skin back until it snaps free. Slight groans of pleasure escapes the beast's lips as she swallows the leather flesh. It was sickening to watch. I held onto the door tightly. I didn't want to become one of of those Zombies. I didn't want those things tearing pieces of my flesh.

I watched movies about zombies and every time I thought to myself, I'm not scared of any zombies. Bring it! Now, I realized I was scared.

"Hey! So are you feeling any better?" Darien asked Marie. He wanted to sound like he didn't care whether she was or not. He was an idiot, if he didn't care, then why ask?

Darien wasn't good at being a Casanova. He always had girls chasing after him. Sexting him pictures of themselves in their underwear. Mostly, they were band girls and freaks. The kind who dressed like they didn't care about the opposite sex but walked around wearing lacy underwear. There was only one girl he'd much rather have him sending him those pictures. She was sitting in the backseat of his car next to me.

He always went on and on about how much he hated her, hated her red hair. How her green eyes reminded him of envy. He talked about her so much he was bound to start liking her. He was always following her around like a dog in heat. She never noticed, never paid any attention to him. Why would she. He never showed his face around school. He never talked to anyone either, except for me and Stacy. He walked around wearing black hoodies, like he was going to rob a store. It was sad… No more like“pathetic," that’s what made him really miserable. He wouldn't allow anyone else into his life since his parents died.
